What it Project Lead the Way (PLTW)? PLTW is a national non-profit organization that helps pre-college students gain the knowledge they need to excel in high-tech fields. PLTW's curriculum is part of the technical education coursework of thousands of schools across the nation. Studies have proven that PLTW students become the kind of prepared, competent, high-tech employees that the U.S. industry needs to stay competitive in the global market.
How Is Missouri S&T Connected to PLTW? PLTW depends not only on a rigorous and relevant pre-engineering curriculum, but also on trained teachers to instruct the next generation of engineers. As the lead affiliate university in Missouri, Missouri S&T provides teacher training, professional development and information for counselors and administrators throughout the state.
How Big is PLTW in Missouri? PLTW continues to grow rapidly in Missouri after only five years of being in the program. Ninety or more schools are projected to be a part of the network by 2008.
